This Seattle, WA Taser Torture Video is Disgusting!

The Inquisition

This police behavior is DISGUSTING! A Black man is on the ground, on his hands and knees, immobile, and is shot with a Taser gun from behind by Seattle, WA police officers. Sure the man was initially running away (from about eight police who had him surrounded). But, when he was tasered he was on his hands and knees on the ground.

It is also clear from this video that the police pointed a Taser gun at a Black woman who was holding a cup of coffee in her hand while attempting to observe what police were doing. They continued to point the Taser gun at her until they had backed her up some twenty yards from a man who appears to be a relative of hers. (In this video, it appears that they Taser may have a red light on it, like a gun, that indicates where it is being pointed.)

It really doesn't matter how this incident started. It doesn't matter if the arrested Black man had an arrest or conviction record. It doesn't matter if he cheated at Bingo in second grade. It is simply unnecessary as a matter of police and public safety, and morally wrong, to taser people who are on their hands and knees. This constitutes torture and it has to be stopped.

Effectively, white America has introduced a new word into the modern lexicon of torture techniques, not unlike the rack, except that this tool is highly mobile:

noun: Taser
verb: to taser

The above photograph comes from the Wooly Days blog, which says:
The English House of Lords declared torture to be illegal in common law as far back as 1628 when the Duke of Buckingham was assassinated by John Felton. Felton was threatened with the rack but King Charles I asked the opinion of the courts who found against torture. Torture spreads like an infectious disease hardening and brutalising its users. In addition to anger, I actually feel a bit of pity for white America, really, because they're rapidly heading back into a medieval culture and mindset, and many of them don't seem to know or care. But, if white America cannot use electricity responsibly, then perhaps they should not have any electricity at all.

In cities where we have a majority on the city councils, we need to reduce the budgets of the police departments until and unless they address our issues and people and communities appropriately.

I WAS A POLICE OFFICER FOR NINE YEARS AND SEE THIS FOOTAGE QUITE DIFFERENTLY THAN MOST CIVILIANS. FIRST ASK YOURSELF "WHY WAS HE RUNNING?" COMPLIANCE ALWAYS WORKS BEST AND WE AS BLACK PEOPLE KNOW THIS, BUT SEEM TO PUT OURSELVES IN SITUATIONS LIKE THIS OVER AND OVER, AND THEN BLAME THE COPS WHEN A BLACK PERSON IS SHOT, OR TASERED. ALL THE YOUNG MAN HAD TO DO IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS TO COOPERATE AND HE WOULDN'T HAVE BEEN TASED. WHY IS IT SO HARD FOR US TO LEARN THIS WHEN DEALING WITH POLICE?

Dear Mr. Kodiak,

Maybe this brother was running because he knew what was coming to him when the police caught up with him.

Enough of the "pie-in-the-sky", rationalizations for the criminal behavior of criminals on blue uniforms, with badges, nightsticks, and worst of all, guns and tasers.

This to me seems like an act of authority. If the brotha was already down then its safe to say they had him under control, and was going to bring him to jail to serve his rightful sentence anyway. Why did the police still feel the need to taser him, what reason thereafter did the police have? What? Then Kodiack tries to justify this act by saying we put ourselves in this situation. This is whats wrong with America and its method of protection. There is none when it comes to blacks. Kodiac says all he had to do was cooperate and he wouldnt have been tasered. All he had to do was do what the police man says and he would have been fine. Therefore Kodiack is saying if you dont do what the police man says they have the right to physiclly harm you? seems like an act of authority to me. They were trying to teach the black man a lesson that they hold the absolute authority as they abused him and looked down on him as they do all minorities. My brother was a victim to this kind of abuse and until today I cannot get over the faces of the police men who repeatedly bruisedc my brother while my mother watched screaming. They didnt care. Police (our protectors) have come to be the biggest gang in America, with the ultimate force behind them; the government.

I dont understand what is so difficult for black people to obey the law. If he would have just stood their and and talked with the officers he would have been ok. Most of you are saying that we are incapable of obeying the law.

him being tasered at the end is just what his stupid azz gets...

White america? wtf are you smoking... next time you say America, try to leave the fucking colors out of it please.

I take exception to you guys using the phrase 'white America'. Please guys, let it rest. I'm white, and I think this shit is disgusting to watch. Don't group me in with these clowns. It makes about as much sense as a white man fearing all blacks cause he was mugged by a black guy. Growing up in NYC, I was mugged by at least 4 black guys, but I don't cross the street when I see a black man. That said, when I see a cop (black or white) I definatley keep my distance.

When we say "white America," what we really mean is people who view things through the white American supremacy paradigm, and the institutional behavior of that paradigm.

It is undeniable that compliance would work best, but when a person is continuously falsely profiled running becomes a thing of habit. Furthermore, upon being caught the actions still appear extremely excessive. This is more disgusting than the Police Brutality video I watched on Digitalfuntown.com the other day.
